Fans of the “Tom Joyner Morning Show” have spoken, and the show will be re-emerging this week on the Chicago radio airwaves after being bumped last month.

The syndicated “TJMS,” a staple in the Chicago market for decades, was abruptly removed from WVAZ-FM 102.3 in late March and replaced with the “Steve Harvey Morning Show.” According to a statement released by Reach Media, which owns the radio program, the show was doing well at the time of the switch.

“The Chicago listener following continues to be strong, highlighted by the Arbitron PPM ratings, released just days after his show was taken off the air March 24th, that showed Joyner ranked #4 mornings in the key demographic of 25-54 year-olds with a 4.6 share for the entire market, and as the top Urban morning show,” the statement reads.

Joyner announced on his program that the new Chicago station will begin broadcasting the show on Wednesday, April 22.
